I am an Instructor of German at Weber State University in Northern Utah. I finished my doctoral studies at the University of Oregon in 2023 with interests in late 20th and early 21st-century German literature with focus on questions of migration, postmigrancy, borders, and coloniality as well as approaches to decolonize German studies. My dissertation examined the writings of German-Bosnian author Saša Stanišić. I continue to work on Stanišić as well as questions of decolonization. Recently, I have also started working on New Media, particularly in contexts of migration. My main focus, however, has shifted to created new, interesting, and engaging classes for my students – most recently a class on German Colonialism and the Impact of its Legacy, on German Science Fiction, and on Sport & Society in Germany.
